E2 Visa

The E-2 visa is a non-immigrant U.S. visa for individuals from treaty countries who are investing a substantial amount of capital in a U.S.-based business. It allows investors, business owners, and essential employees to live and work in the United States to develop and direct the enterprise.

Applicants must be nationals of a country that has an E-2 treaty of commerce and navigation with the U.S.

The individual must be investing in a legitimate U.S. enterprise.

The investment must be "substantial" (sufficient to ensure the successful operation of the enterprise).

The business must not be marginal, meaning it should generate more than enough income to support the applicant

The E-2 visa is generally granted for an initial period of two years.

Each entry to the U.S. on the E-2 visa typically allows a stay of up to two years.

Spouses and unmarried children under 21 years old can accompany the main visa holder.
